Calaguas Group of Islands
If you’re looking for a virgin beach that only a few people know about, the Calaguas group of islands is the best place to go. Upon reaching one of the islands, your feet will bask in clear blue waters on top of fine white sands. The charm of these islands is the fact that it is not yet fully developed, so visitors can enjoy utmost privacy.
The historical town of Cagsawa was engulfed in lava when Mt. Mayon erupted in 1814. The bell tower from the town’s church is the only remaining structure that reminds people of its past. This tower with Mt. Mayon in the background is often depicted in many postcards as well as photos taken by professional photographers.
This festival is held every September, in honor of the region’s patron saint, Our Lady of Peñafrancia
