The actual spot where Spanish Governor Isidro Castro and his soldiers surrendered to the Filipino forces on November 5, 1898, marking the end of the Spanish regime in Negros Occidental.
San Sebastian Cathedral
One of the oldest standing churches in Negros, the San Sebastian Cathedral was constructed in 1876, under the leadership of Father Mauricio Ferrero, O.A.R. Its architecture is remarkable - originally made from wood and galvanized roofing, then expanded in 1871, using coral stones from the Guimaras and hardwoods cut in Paragua, Palawan.
This century-old structure used to be the sanctuary for Spanish officers and civic leaders during the revolution.
Panaad Festival is a week-long celebration participated by all cities and municipalities in Negros Occidental to give thanksgiving to the Divine Providence. It is held on the month of April.
Held every third weekend of October, the festival is a very vibrant celebration marked with street dancing competitions, beauty pageants, concerts, garden shows, banquets, etc.
