About Baguio and its History
InformationBaguio City is a city known for its cooler climate and as such, has been dubbed as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines". Much of this urbanized city is built on uneven / hilly terrain, since it is located within the Cordillera Central mountain range of Northern Luzon, Philippines. Despite being highly commercialized, Baguio also has a lot to offer for nature lovers - it is known for its pine trees, and has its fair share of scenic parks.
American RegimeDuring the American regime, Baguio was the residence of the American governor-general to escape the scorching heat of Manila. The Americans further developed the city by building parks and other establishments.
Modern TimesOn 2009, Baguio celebrated its centenary.
